Microdermabrasions - refine, rejuvenate and soften skin

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic technique that uses a mechanical medium for exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis. It stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen. This non-invasive procedure provides great results without the recovery time issues of dermabrasion and other harsh skin treatments (Does not use crystals, chemicals or lasers!). And Mina's Studio offers the newest form of microdermabrasion - crystal free diamond tipped machine.

Microdermabrasion may be performed to decrease the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation, aging skin, enlarged skin pores and photo-damage, as well as diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars. Removing the dead skin will aid in the penetration of skin care products and make-up will go on more smoothly.

Who should consider Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion works with all skin types and for anyone interested in minimizing the appearance of scarring, fine lines, pigmentation problems, uneven skin tones and dull, lifeless and sun damaged skin.

Microdermabrasion is not recommended anyone who has taken the acne drug Accutane within the past six months because there is a risk of creating scar or injury in someone who has taken Accutane.

Also, because there is a risk that microdermabrasion may stimulate a new outbreak, patients who have a history of herpes simplex (cold sores) around their lips should consider taking an oral antiviral medication before undergoing Treatment by microdermabrasion.

How long does it take?

Your first microdermabrasion is scheduled for an hour and the following appointments in the treatment will take 30 minutes.

How soon will I see results?

You will notice an immediate improvement after your first treatment. Your skin will have a fresh pink glow and smoother texture with improvements continuing throughout your treatment program.

How many treatments will I need?

Although you'll see results after the first session, a minimum of six treatments are recommended for the full effect and long-lasting results.

What should I do after my treatment?

There is no downtime with the procedure and you can resume daily activities immediately. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure on the treated area for 24 hours. Also, because your outer layer of skin has been exfoliated, the treated area will be sensitive to hot water and sweat for the first day. Following your treatment you may experience light peeling. And similar to our recommendation for your daily skin care regimen, you should use moisturizer and sun screen to protect your skin.
